Kata Benda Dapat Dihitung vs Kata Benda tak Dapat Dihitung

Secara harafiah, countable berarti “dapat dihitung” dan uncountable berarti “tidak dapat dihitung”. Makna tersebut dapat diaplikasikan ke dalam nomina dalam Bahasa Inggris ini.

COUNTABLE NOUN: Nomina yang dapat dihitung, kebanyakan nomina masuk dalam kategori ini. Nomina ini dapat diukur atau dikuantitaskan, sehingga dapat didahului oleh a/an atau one, two, three, dst. Bentuk plural (jamak)-nya dapat diakhiri dengan –s/–es untuk yg regular noun

UNCOUNTABLE NOUN: Nomina yang tidak dapat dihitung, tidak dapat dikuantitaskan/disebut dengan angka, dan hanya memiliki bentuk singular, sehingga tidak memiliki bentuk plural dan tidak perlu diberi akhiran –s/–es.
