PRONOUNS

Pronouns (kata ganti) merupakan kata yang digunakan untuk menggantikan kata benda (noun) 

Macam-macam pronouns berdasarkan fungsinya

1. Subject Pronouns (untuk menggantikan orang/benda pada posisi subject) 

• ​I : saya
  • ​Contoh: I am a student. (Saya seorang pelajar.)
• ​You: kamu/Anda
  • ​Contoh: You are very kind. (Kamu sangat baik.)
• ​He : dia (laki-laki)
  • ​Contoh: He works in an office. (Dia bekerja di kantor.)
• ​She : dia (perempuan)
  • ​Contoh: She is my sister. (Dia adalah saudari saya.)
• ​It : dia/itu (untuk benda atau hewan)
  • ​Contoh: It is a new phone. (Itu adalah telepon baru.)
• ​We: kami/kita
  • ​Contoh: We are going to the cinema. (Kami akan pergi ke bioskop.)
• ​They : mereka
  • ​Contoh: They play football every Saturday. (Mereka bermain sepak bola setiap hari Sabtu

2. Object Pronouns (untuk menggantikan orang/benda pada posisi object) 

• ​me : saya
  • ​Contoh: He gave the book to me. (Dia memberikan buku itu kepada saya.)
• ​you : kamu/Anda
  • ​Contoh: I will call you tomorrow. (Saya akan menelepon kamu besok.)
• ​him : dia (laki-laki)
  • ​Contoh: She saw him at the park. (Dia melihat dia di taman.)
• ​her : dia (perempuan)
  • ​Contoh: We met her at the store. (Kami bertemu dia di toko.)
• ​it: dia/itu (untuk benda atau hewan)
  • ​Contoh: I love my new phone. I use it every day. (Saya suka telepon baru saya. Saya menggunakannya setiap hari.)
• ​us: kami/kita
  • ​Contoh: Can you help us? (Bisakah kamu membantu kami?)
• ​them: mereka
  • ​Contoh: She thanked them for their help. (Dia berterima kasih kepada mereka atas bantuan mereka.)

3. Possesive Adjective (untuk menunjukkan sifat kepemilikan dari suatu benda ) 

• ​my : saya/ku
  • ​Contoh: This is my car. (Ini adalah mobilku.)
• ​your ; kamu/Anda/mu
  • ​Contoh: Where is your book? (Di mana bukumu?)
• ​his : dia/nya (laki-laki)
  • ​Contoh: His name is Tom. (Namanya adalah Tom.)
• ​her : dia/nya (perempuan)
  • ​Contoh: I like her dress. (Saya suka gaunnya.)
• ​its
  • ​Artinya: dia/itu (untuk benda atau hewan)
  • ​Contoh: The dog wagged its tail. (Anjing itu mengibas-ngibaskan ekornya.)
• ​our
  • ​Artinya: kami/kita
  • ​Contoh: Our house is big. (Rumah kami besar.)
• ​their
  • ​Artinya: mereka
  • ​Contoh: Their team won the game. (Tim mereka memenangkan pertandingan.)

4. Possessive Pronouns (untuk kata ganti kepemilikan) 

• ​mine : milik saya/milikku
  • ​Contoh: This book is mine. (Buku ini milik saya.)
• ​yours : milik kamu/Anda/milikmu
  • ​Contoh: Is this phone yours? (Apakah telepon ini milik kamu?)
• ​his : miliknya/milik dia  (laki-laki)
  • ​Contoh: The car is his. (Mobil itu milik dia.)
• ​hers : miliknya/milik dia (perempuan)
  • ​Contoh: That jacket is hers. (Jaket itu milik dia.)
• ​ours : milik kami/kita
  • ​Contoh: The house is ours. (Rumah itu milik kami.)
• ​theirs : milik mereka
  • ​Contoh: The idea was theirs. (Ide itu milik mereka.)

5. Reflexive Pronouns (untuk menjelaskan sesuatu yang dilakukan untuk atau oleh dirinya sendir)i 

• myself Artinya: diri saya sendiri Contoh: I bought a gift for myself. (Saya membeli hadiah untuk diri saya sendiri.)
• ​yourself Artinya: diri kamu sendiri Contoh: You should be proud of yourself. (Kamu harus bangga pada diri kamu sendiri.)
• ​himself Artinya: diri dia sendiri (laki-laki) Contoh: He taught himself how to play the guitar. (Dia mengajari dirinya sendiri cara bermain gitar.)
• ​herself Artinya: diri dia sendiri (perempuan) Contoh: She cooked dinner by herself. (Dia memasak makan malam sendirian.)
• ​itself Artinya: dirinya sendiri (benda/hewan) Contoh: The door opens by itself. (Pintu itu terbuka dengan sendirinya.)
• ​ourselves Artinya: diri kami/kita sendiri Contoh: We made the cake ourselves. (Kami membuat kue itu sendiri.)
• ​yourselves Artinya: diri kalian sendiri Contoh: Please help yourselves to the food. (Silakan ambil makanan sendiri.)
• ​themselves Artinya: diri mereka sendiri Contoh: They can take care of themselves. (Mereka bisa mengurus diri mereka sendiri.)

• Objects Pronouns
  – You meet me. ( Kamu menemui saya) 
  – Yusuf meets her. (Yusuf menemui dia) 
  – We meet him.(Kami menemui dia) 
  – Aisyah meets them.(Aisyah menemui mereka) 
  – They meet you. (Mereka menemui kamu) 

• Possessive Adjective
  – It is my hat. ( itu topiku) 
  – It is your hat.(itu topimu) 
  – It is her hat.(itu topinya) 
  – Those are their hats.(itu topinya/topi mereka) 
  – It is his hat.(itu topinya) 

• Possessive Pronouns
  – This apple is mine.(Apel ini milikku) 
  – These apples are theirs.(Apel² ini miliknya/milik mereka) 
  – This apple is hers.(Apel ini miliknya/pr) 
  – This apple is his.(Apel ini miliknya/lk²) 
  – These apples are ours.(Apel² ini adalah milik kami) 

• Reflexive Pronouns
  – I did the project myself ( Saya mengerjakan proyek itu sendiri) 
  – They pay for themselves.(Mereka membayar untuk mereka sendiri) 
  – He fixed the car himself.(Dia memperbaiki mobil itu sendiri) 
  – She wrote the book by herself (Dia menulis buku itu sendiri) 
• – We built this house ourselves.(Kami membangun rumah ini sendiri)
